AMALIE BENJAMIN IS A GENIUS

Ends up being Sox in 4...
I am pretty tired today, as Jim and I went to last night's 12 inning buzzkill. Seats were awesome, over by Pesky Pole. Rolled into our driveway about 3:30 am. I will post photos from Game 3 in a few days, I got a few awesome pix to share with you.
Next 2 days off to recover from the champagne, then our boys will head down to Tropicana to face the AL East Champs, Tampa Bay Rays.
I Love Soxtober, and I love that new guy out in left field.

JD Drew... Nancy Drew... whatever! c'MON 1 MORE TO GO!!!

Going to tonite's game with Jim and some of my co-workers. Driving all the way up there, just in case we win. I certainly don't want to leave the park in middle of celebration, because of fear of missing last train out!!! Look for me over by Pesky's Pole, I'll be the one with the Dunkin Donuts java in my hand!

KEEP THE FAITH, NATION!!!!!

(Yep, that's me, up on the Monster for last Thursday's game!) 'Twas an anniverary present from my husband, it could be the MOST AWESOME gift EVER! thank you, Jim!!!
JUST A QUICK NOTE TO WISH THE SOX WELL TONITE, AS THEY TAKE ON THE ANGELS OF ANAHEIM.
The national press is not being very kind to our boys. I admit injuries are numerous and the Angels appear to have our number this year, with the Sox going 1-8 against them this year. But this is the postseason, people, and all logic is out the door...
I dont think about things like Bucky $#!$@! Dent these days, I think about the Bloody Sock, and being down 0-3 against the Yankees in 2004, but winning it all just the same. It was illogical then, and we can certainly be illogical now. That is why I love this sport so much. Look at it all on paper, and you think you know it all, but in the end, you might as well just burn the damn paper, because until the final out there are NO GUARANTEES!
Here are some predictions for ROUND 1 by those sports writers whose work I enjoy, as taken from Boston.com:
Boston Globe: Dan Shaughnessy and Adam Kilgore pick the Angels in five, while Bob Ryan, Nick Cafardo, and Tony Massarotti pick the Angels in four. Amalie Benjamin picks the Red Sox to win in five.

Tim Kurkijan, ESPN: Angels in five.
CBS Sports staff: Danny Knobler, Eric Mack, Scott Miller, and Adriane Rosen all pick the Angels in 5.

Yahoo! sports staff: Tim Brown predicts an Angels sweep, Jeff Passan picks Angels in four, and Gordon Edes likes the Angels in five. Steve Henson is the lone staff member going with the Red Sox, picking Boston to win in five.

Mike Phillips, Miami Herald: Angels in five.
Vegas Insider: Angels in four.
Amalie Benjamin seems to be the only homer on this list, picking the Sox in 5. She will either be deemed a genius, or an idiot. Hmmm... any bets?

2nd best... will it be enough?

The Rays are really starting to iritate me.

I thought they would be out of the picture by now. The team that has a tough time getting 13,000 fans to come to Tropicana Field to root for them, is running away with the AL East. I really thought that they would have collapsed by now. But I have to say, I watched them again this weekend, and THEY STILL LOOK GOOD. They do the little things well; sac hits, good cutoff throws, smart baserunning. Plus they look like they are having fun, and having fun together.

What the hell happened? Each day, I catch myself checking the Rays' score, NOT the Yankees.

(OK, sometimes I still do look at the Yankees score, but mostly its to see if A-Rod choked into another one of his double plays with men on base in the 9th inning.)

I know the Yanks are like 12 1/2 games out now, but until they statistically CANNOT possibly make the playoffs, I will NOT say officially that they are done. Tho' I believe in my heart that their chances are nil. Especially since they are now on this 4 team, 10 game west coast road trip. The Angels are going to be tough!!!

I truly believe the Red Sox have enough stuff to take the wildcard. Theo's acquisitions with the Manny trade, and picking up Kotsay and Byrd have certainly panned out so far. Doesn't seem like we got an Eric Gagne- type bust this year. Jason Bay? I love him!!

But the key going into September for this team, will be the health of Josh Beckett. There is no doubt he carries a team in the postseason. We need him to pitch in the playoffs, and pitch well. It won't matter how awesome Pedroia or Youkilis are, if our pitching doesn't bring it to the next level.

YOU KNOW THIS GUY WILL SLEEP WELL 2NITE

Tito must be the one guy so stoked that Manny is now 3000 miles away.
Now he can get back to managing the boys, and not have to worry about all the bull$#%!

Goodbye, Farewell, AMEN

Have fun in Hollywood, Manny...
I have to say, that
Something isn't all right in the world right now.
The Red Sox pay the Dodgers $7 million, and give away two players to the Pirate, to dump Manny.
Green Bay offered today to pay $20 million to Brett Favre to just go away.
PAY MONEY TO NOT WORK????
If my boss is reading this, Donna, if you want to follow the trend, just give me a mere $2 million, and you will never see my behind again!
Just kidding; I'll be back to work soon...
